Ores & Ingots of Britannia
A master guide to the 9 ore varieties in Ultima Online: Renaissance, including mining thresholds, smelting loss rates, durability modifiers, and armor bonuses.
The Colored Ore Hierarchy
Ores and Ingots in Ultima Online: Renaissance form the lifeblood of Britannia's blacksmithing economy. Discovered in mountain cliffs and subterranean caves using Mining, high-tier ores produce exceptional armor and weapons with heightened physical defense and extraordinary durability.
Mining and Smelting Rules
- Mining high-tier veins requires elevated skill levels. Attempting to extract advanced minerals without sufficient skill yields standard iron.
- Smelting raw ore chunks at a forge carries a risk of loss. Miners with higher skill retain higher percentages of refined ingots.
- Smelting smaller 2-ore stacks or using a fire beetle minimizes ore destruction on challenging veins.
