Installation & Getting Started
Step 1: Download the Executable
Download UORLauncher.exe and place it in your preferred folder (or run it directly).
Step 2: Choose Your Installation Path
- **Existing Players:** In the **Options** tab, click **Browse** next to **Install Path** and point it to your existing UO:R game directory (e.g.
C:\UOR).- Doing this automatically preserves your existing Razor macros, hotkeys, profiles, and ClassicUO configurations!
- **New Players:** Choose an install folder such as
C:\Games\UORenaissance. The launcher will download and unpack all required client files and dependencies.
Step 3: Select Client & Assistant Options
Under the **Options** tab:
- Choose your primary client: **ClassicUO** (recommended for modern high-resolution displays and 60+ FPS) or **Legacy Client**.
- Ensure **Launch Razor** is checked so your macro and macro assistance engine opens with the game.
- Optionally check **Open CUO client for each account** if you regularly play multiple characters at once.
Step 4: Enable Client Mods (Optional)
Check any desired mods under the **UO Mods** box and click **Apply**:
- **FactionBags / RedGoldBags / GreenBags / BigBag:** Color-coded or enlarged backpacks for rapid inventory recognition.
- **Blood/Fire/SpellsHue:** Enhanced visibility for ground fire fields and combat spell visual cues.
- **TreeHues / ClassicLauncher Compatibility:** Clean tree canopies for unobstructed overworld line of sight.
Step 5: Enter Britannia!
Return to the **News** tab and click **Enter Britannia**. The launcher will perform a quick version check and launch your game client.
Important Notes & Troubleshooting
⚠️ ClassicUO Gumps.xml Note
If you previously ran an independent version of ClassicUO newer than 1.1.0.0, the format ofgumps.xmlwas altered upstream. To prevent your gump layout from resetting, back up yourgumps.xmlbefore pointing the launcher to your existing install, or contact the staff on the forums/Discord.
💾 Backing Up Macros & Profiles
Before migrating or testing fresh paths, make a quick copy of your existingRazor\Macrosfolder andClassicUO\Data\Profilesfolder. You can drop them right into your launcher install path at any time.
🎒 Extra Standalone Mods
Community mods such as Tools & Instruments, Gems, and Smaller Robes & Cloaks (75% smaller) can be unzipped directly into the mods/ subfolder inside your game install directory while all client windows are closed.
