Covetous
Overview & Location
Dungeon Covetous is situated in the mountain ridge northeast of the artisan city of Minoc and directly north of Vesper (Coordinates: 87°N, 114°E). Dedicated antithetically to the Virtue of Sacrifice, Covetous plunges through five dangerous subterranean tiers containing subterranean lakes, spider-infested vaults, and ancient dragon roosts.
Floor-by-Floor Inhabitants
Level 1: Harpy Roost
The upper cavern features winding stone hallways inhabited by Harpies, Giant Serpents, and Stone Harpies. Novice warriors frequently train here, relying on ranged combat and high-swing weapons to dispatch flying predators.
Level 2: Gazer Laboratories & Skeleton Crypts
The second level descends into ancient prison holding cells and summoning chambers:
- Inhabitants: Gazers, Skeletons, Ghouls, and Spectres.
- Hazards: Gazer mana drain and lightning bursts make energy resistance and reflect spells vital.
Level 3: Subterranean Lake
The third level opens into a colossal underground lake fed by subterranean rivers:
- Inhabitants: Water Elementals, Poison Elementals, and Sea Serpents.
- Treasure: Hidden chests along the sandy shorelines require moderate Lockpicking and Remove Trap skill.
Level 4: Dread Spider Nest
A labyrinth of silken webs and bone-strewn ledges:
- Inhabitants: Dread Spiders and Giant Spiders.
- Combat Note: Dread Spiders cast high-circle spells and afflict targets with deadly poison. Greater Cure potions are essential.
Level 5: Lake Dragons & Champion Spawn
The deepest cavern harbors an underground subterranean ocean home to Lake Dragons and Drakes.
- Champion Altar: The site of the Cold Blood Champion Spawn.
- Boss Threat: The spawning of powerful serpentine guardians makes Level 5 a hotspot for guild expeditions and high-stakes PvP clashes.
Tactical Advice
- Supplies: Bring ample Greater Cure and Greater Heal potions; spider venoms inflict severe damage over time.
- Escape Routes: Teleportation and Recall require clear lines of sight; be mindful of choke points at stairwells where red PKs often lay ambushes.
