Guild Creation & Deeds
To establish a guild, a player must purchase a Guild Deed from an NPC Provisioner or Architect (costing ~25,000 gold pieces):
- The deed must be used inside a house owned or co-owned by the guild founder.
- Double-clicking the deed places a telepathic Guildstone on the floor.
- The founder chooses the guild's official Name and abbreviation Tag (up to 4 characters, displayed in brackets next to your character title).
Guildstone Management & Ranks
The Guildstone serves as the administrative terminal for the entire guild:
- Guildmaster: Can invite recruits, promote officers, set member titles, declare war, or dismiss members.
- Guild Titles: Custom titles can be granted to individual members (e.g., High Inquisitor, Quartermaster).
- Telepathic Chat: Guild members can speak globally across the entire shard using the guild chat prefix: `\ message` or `\c message`.
Order vs Chaos Virtue Warfare
Guildmasters can choose to align their entire organization with the forces of Virtuous Order or Anarchic Chaos:
The Knights of Order
Pledged to Lord British and the Virtues. Equipped with the ceremonial Order Kite Shield. Order members are permanently hostile to all Chaos members anywhere in Britannia without guard protection.
The Legions of Chaos
The Legions of Chaos
Pledged to Lord Blackthorn and the philosophy of free will through chaos. Bearers of the Chaos Heater Shield. Chaos members battle Order opponents on sight across town plazas and wilderness alike.
- Shield Requirement: Order and Chaos shields can only be equipped by members in good standing. If a player leaves the guild, the shield falls to their backpack.
- Town Combat: Order and Chaos players can battle within guarded city streets without guards intervening or murder counts being reported!
Formal Guild Wars
Standard guilds can engage in consensual conflict without joining Order or Chaos:
- A Guildmaster can initiate a formal **Declaration of War** against another guild via the Guildstone.
- Once the defending Guildmaster accepts the challenge, a war state commences.
- **War Rules**:
- Both guilds turn bright orange to each other.
- Members can kill each other anywhere without murder counts or criminal flags.
- Combat does not summon town guards.
- Peace can be declared by mutual agreement from both leaders.
