Tournament Rules & Fair Play
To ensure competitive integrity and equal opportunity for every adventurer, fishing tournaments on UO:Renaissance follow established server guidelines:
- Automated NPC Weigh-In: All catches are officially turned in to the Fish Tournament NPC situated on the Moonglow Docks. The officer automatically reads and permanently logs:
- Exact weight (stones) of each fish
- Exact date and timestamp of the turn-in
- The name of the angler who caught the fish
- The name of the character turning in the catch
- The Individual Character ("Per Toon") Rule: Each character must turn in their fish individually. Catches cannot be grouped or transferred between different characters or accounts to boost a single total weight. This ensures a level playing field, giving casual players with a single trained fisherman a legitimate opportunity to compete alongside veterans running multiple accounts.
- Real-Time Tracking & Discord Integration: Tournament bots and server leaderboards record catches, providing live standings and preventing catch manipulation.
Prize Divisions & Tokens
Every fish turned in during a tournament guarantees a reward through the event's token economy, while exceptional catches compete for division titles:
Token Economy (Lottos & Wishing Wells)
- 1 Fish = 1 Event Token: For every qualifying fish turned in to the Moonglow Docks NPC, the player receives one tournament token (such as a Lotto Token or Piece of Eight).
- Raffles & House Lottos: Tokens can be redeemed for chances to win major properties (such as keep deeds or custom houses donated by community benefactors) or spent at dockside Wishing Wells for rare decorative items, dyes, and equipment.
Division Champion Packages
Across the tournament, players compete in core divisions:
- Biggest Fish: The single heaviest fish pulled from the ocean.
- Smallest Fish: The lightest eligible catch recorded (often as light as 12 stones).
- Highest Total Weight: The grand test of endurance and dedication, awarded to the individual character with the highest combined weight of all fish turned in.
- Best Event Screenshot: A creative community contest hosted on the official forums for memorable seafaring moments and battles on the open seas.
- Weight Firsts & Roll-Offs: Awards given to the first fishermen to turn in specific target weights (1–200 stones), with random roll-offs on Discord to resolve ties.
